Visit and “Like” the DARS Facebook Page

DARS is excited to announce that we’ve entered the realm of social media, namely Facebook. You can now visit www.facebook.com/DARSTexas and “Like” us. The DARS Facebook page will feature articles about DARS initiatives, including Disabilities History and Awareness; events going on throughout the agency; and information about our stakeholder and partner organizations. The page will be an informative outlet for stakeholders and the public.

If you have a special event or other information that you want us to include on the DARS Facebook page, we invite you to send the information and links to your event or organization to cper@dars.state.tx.us.

Accessibility has been a concern for those using Facebook, but the site has come a long way to address this issue. More information about Facebook’s compatibility with screen readers and other accessibility software is contained in the article, “Using Facebook with Screen Readers and Other Assistive Technology.”

To accommodate those who have issues with Facebook accessibility or who prefer not to use Facebook, DARS will publish the postings from the DARS Facebook page on the DARS Internet site at www.dars.state.tx.us/stakeholders/fb.shtml.
