Partnering with Faith-Based and Community Organizations

Texas state agencies and the One Star Foundation and have partnered together to make it easier for faith-based and community organizations to provide services to Texans.  Many non-profit organizations find it challenging to provide services through the state due to different contracting requirements, difficulty in finding information by navigating disparate agency websites, and the inability to find training for their staff.  Concentrating agencies’ partnering information through One Star Foundation’s website saves time for both the agencies and the nonprofits and ultimately benefits not only them but Texans who need their services.  This Web page provides training to non-profits and answers to their frequently asked questions about partnering with the state.  In addition, they may also access One Star’s Texas Connector interactive mapping tool, giving them “a visual ‘snapshot’ of needs and services in Texas populated by information from Texas 2-1-1, GuideStar USA, Inc., and demographic and socioeconomic data from government and other sources.”
