Gov. Perry Appoints Hundley and Turner to State Independent Living Council

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Anna Hundley of Dallas and Calvin Turner of Austin to the State Independent Living Council. The council leads, promotes, and advances an independent living philosophy and advocates for the rights of individuals with disabilities.

Hundley is executive director of Autism Treatment Centers of Texas. She is a board member and past president of the National Association of Residential Providers for Adults with Autism, vice chair of the Texas Council on Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders, and a board member of Round-Up for Autism. She is also a member of SEDL, the National Advisory Panel for Employment for Adults with Autism, Deaf-Blind and Multi-handicapped Association of Texas, and the Leadership Council for Advancing Futures of Adults with Autism. Hundley received a bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas and a master's degree in special education from the University of New Orleans, and is certified in administration and management from Texas Woman's University. She is appointed for a term to expire Oct. 24, 2014.
